Tue, 6 February 2007 ![]() ...by not updating for a month, I mean. And yes, I know that in the show I say that's it's #15 not #16, but I think that all just goes with the charming, homemade feel of the whole enterprise, don't you think? Just nod, just nod. This is a special Dark of the Moon edition of Tales of the Brass Hedgehog, mostly taken up by a radio show that I was on on Sunday promoting the show and playing the music and so on. I hope you enjoy it and we'll be back to our regularly scheduled podcast next week. Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Mon, 25 December 2006 And it's a Merry Christmas Podcast! I can't manage to do this at the best of times, but on Christmas morning I'm podcasting away like an elf with an iRiver. Not that I have an iRiver, but you get the point. Artist of the Podcast was really mostly a Website of the Podcast, falalalala.com, playing the best in cheesy Christmas music from your childhood, and they're marvelous daily Christmas music download, ADVENTures in Carols. Songs played: "Deck the Halls" by the Osmond Brothers, "Santa's On His Way" by The Town Pipers, "Three Kings" by The Glad Singers, and "A Podsafe Christmas Song" by Jonathan Coulton. Also, go download Clever Little Pod's Christmas show, I'm on it and it's great! Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Fri, 8 December 2006 Yay! After being all lame last week, here is a new podcast all shiny and sparkly and sleepy and hoarse-voiced. Mentioned in passing, Clever Little Pod, Filmspotting, Cast-On, Comedy4cast. Artist of the Podcast: Roy Zimmerman, for the second time, featuring songs from his new album, Faulty Intelligence, which is available from Roy's site here, and from iTunes. Songs played: "That is the War on Terror", "Creation Science 101", "When the Saints Go Marching in to New Orleans", and "Glory Bound Train". Podcast of the Podcast, for the first time in I have no idea how long, Cush Things I Say. Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Mon, 27 November 2006 So you thought that last week was a one-off and I wouldn't manage again this week! Especially since it's next week. But still, I recorded this last night (Sunday) so it totally counts for last week even though it's this week that I am posting it. Mentioned in passing, Christine Lavin, Ray Jessel, Julie Gold (whom I think I called Nancy Gold) and probably other stuff that I can't remember because I didn't take any notes. Artist of the Podcast: Mary Liz McNamara, the spelling of whose last name I butchered over and over again, and whose album, Unhinged, is available at CD Baby. Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Fri, 17 November 2006 ![]() Guess what? I totally podcasted! I know, I know, it's quite a shock, but at last the SLA released me from that dark closet and the first thing that I did, blinking dazedly in the light, is record a podcast. That's how much I care for you. Anyway, mentioned in passing were Clever Little Pod, Cast-On, and The Podsafe Music Network The Artist of the Podcast: Dust Rhinos, their cds are available at CD Baby, and I played the songs "Whiskey in the Jar", "Cheers to You" and "Jedi Drinking Song" Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Fri, 21 July 2006 In a MUCH better mood this week, so I'm podcasting and there's lots of swell music and fun stories and we're all back to normal round our way. Mentioned in passing, Great Big Sea's podcast and The Aycliffe Podcast, both excellent podcasts, but neither are the Podcast of the Podcast, because I didn't do that again this week. Artist of the Podcast: The Arrogant Worms Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Fri, 7 July 2006 Great good heavens, the whining and pissing and moaning in this podcast! Also the gnashing of teeth! Nothing like recording a podcast after a terrible rehearsal of a show that opens in five days, that's what I always say. Fortunately, I play some great music, so it gets better. Mentioned in passing, Cast On, Sage Tyrtle of Quirky Nomads, the Podsafe Music Network, and Librivox. Artist of the Podcast: Jim's Big Ego Comments[1943] |
Fri, 30 June 2006 It's the All-Acting Story of the Week version of Tales of the Brass Hedgehog! I take a week off, and I end up with so much to tell! There is music as well, but here it is, only the 8th episode, and already I'm into repeats, but since it's Jonathan Coulton, and you could easily do an all-Jonathan Coulton podcast, I don't think it's any kind of a cheat on you guys. The artist of the podcast: Jonathan Coulton Songs played: " A Womb With a View", "Chiron Beta Prime", and "Re: Your Brains" (video here) Fabulous t-shirts and merch available here And don't forget Thing a Week Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Fri, 16 June 2006 Ahh, a lovely podcast recorded in a relaxed manner at a reasonable hour, what a treat! Except for the cat walking across my keyboard, my chair losing altitude, and the CONSTANT mouse-clicks! Have there always been this many mouse clicks and I am only just noticing? Comments[683] |
Fri, 9 June 2006 Lord have mercy, do you know what I did last night? I FORGOT to do my podcast! Until I was lying in my bed and going to sleep and...whoops! So I got up early again this week and I did my damn early morning podcast thingy. Mentioned casually in passing, Brenda Dayne's Cast-On, (again! It will really be the Podcast of the Podcast someday, I promise!), Clever Little Pod, and CLP's new episode with my guest fabulousness on it. Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo and Cagey House for the theme music. Fri, 2 June 2006 Okay, so I thought this was going to be a short episode, since I did it this morning instead of last night, and it turned out to be the longest one yet! Sorry about that, but there is lots of swell music, so I think it's going to be okay with you guys. It was recorded even more on the fly than usual, and the clicking that you hear during the show is me fiddling with the Lust Pollution cd cover. Whoops! Special thanks, as always, to Karen Hansen for the fab logo. Fri, 26 May 2006 Hello darlings, I made it all the way to number four without getting jaded! Although I still am not organized enough to make notes before the show, and thus I managed to forget entirely about the Podcast of the Podcast! Even though before starting recording, I edited the sound clip that I wanted to use and had it sitting there in plain sight. Comments[924] |
Fri, 19 May 2006 My third podcast, and I think I am getting into the swing of it a little bit! I talk about Librivox (again!), Kara, The Lost Boys, the sweet feedback that I got from Coverville, my first pet fan, how the wonderful Karen Hanson designed my beautiful logo and I never thanked her because I am worst person who has ever lived, and this site is hosted by libsyn.com. Artist of the podcast: Lindsay Smith Podcast of the podcast: Clever Little Pod, which is both clever and little! Also, it is a podcast, so complete truth in advertising there. Fri, 12 May 2006 Here we are, show the second! And unlike show the first, rather than my sounding stuffy, I sniff about eighty times. Also, I had the volume in my headphones too low, so there are an awful lot of popped p's and big blowy exhales. So now that your expectations are nice and low, on to the podcast! Fri, 5 May 2006 Hooray! Hooray! Podcast-o-rama! Podcast-a-go-go! Podcasting up the wazoo! Seriously, I have been planning on starting a podcast for months and months, then I decided for sure that I wanted it to be in conjunction with my tenth journalversary. Today, 5 May 2006, is the tenth anniversary of my online journal, Sweet as a Biscuit, aka "The Mighty Kymm - you'll not see nothing like" aka whatever the hell else I've been calling it over the past ten years. It even used to be at hedgehog.net! I actually recorded this podcast two weeks ago, because I just. Couldn't. Wait. There will be a new one every Friday which will include a featured artist, a featured podcast, and me talking your ear off. My original thought was that I'm an actor in NY, I'll talk about acting and tell funny stories, like Betty in the Sky does about being a flight attendant, but I know me, it's not going to be nearly so organized as hers is. Regular listeners of podcasts can skip this part, but here is a quick podcasting tutorial for perhaps my readers of Sweet as a Biscuit (currently in exile at livejournal, but soon to move back to the domain) who do not know from podcasting. First of all, a podcast is a radio show recorded for the internet that you download onto your computer to listen to at your leisure, and, the name notwithstanding, you don't need an iPod to listen to a podcast, all you need is a computer. You can download a podcast in three different ways, you can right click on the individual podcast link and download it, or you can subscribe via iTunes, or via another podcast catcher. Personally, I prefer Juice to iTunes, and it will look for new episodes for you ands automatically download them to your computer. I don't know how fast it will take for me to get listen in iTunes, but my rss feed is right here, and all you have to do is copy and paste it into Juice or something else. Or just wait for iTunes to catch up. Or right click! And then listen! And then tell me how much you liked it! Or call me at 206-202-2867, (that's 206-20-ACTOR, pretty cool, eh?) and leave a voicemail. In this, my first podcast, I talk about saying y'know all the damn time, tell the story of the Road to the Podcast, blame it all on John Scalzi, casually mention Comedy 4 Cast, CD Baby and The Chapin Sisters in passing, and talk about how I can talk without stopping until being hit with a tranquilizer dart. The artist of the podcast: Jonathan Coulton Songs played: " Skullcrusher Mountain", "Dance, Soterios Johnson, Dance", " First of May" and "Code Monkey" Fabulous t-shirts and merch available here And don't forget Thing a Week The podcast of the podcast: Coverville. Unfortunately, there are no other links that I can put up for Coverville except for Coverville, but click it! Download it! Subscribe to it! You won't be sorry. Comments[953] |
